LITEISTRY™ Featured In Office Space
Like the region is represents, the Greenville Chamber of Commerce is on the move. The Upstate of South Carolina has established itself as a hotbed for industry and the Chamber’s move to a modern office facility embodied that spirit.
The Greenville Chamber’s former office was outdated and did not reflect the direction of the organization. Located in the heart of the core business district, the class-A commercial office space is designed to convene constituents from around the Greenville community. The renovated office more accurately reflects the brand and better positions the Chamber to deliver upon its mission of leading, convening and mobilizing the community to drive regional economic growth.
Input from Current Lighting, with its headquarters based in Greenville, SC, was able to help select lighting that appeared tailor-made for the space and encapsulated the vision the Chamber for the new office. Every detail was carefully selected to align with the future direction of the organization, including the lighting. The Leadership Team wanted the new space to feel modern and bright. Current Lighting and its local agent, Carolina Architectural Lighting (“CAL+D”), developed a lighting design that would provide occupants with the ideal light, meet energy saving requirements and align with the design ambition of the architect.
Versify™ troffer fixtures from Columbia Lighting are used throughout the entire office. This fixture utilizes edge-lit technology to create consistent and comfortable illumination across the entirety of the surface. The result is a sleek, yet simple aesthetic. Clean architectural lines and elegantly tapered accent edges give the fixture minimalist appeal while the center strip accent provides subtle definition. The optical design of Versify supports the ability for high outputs without compromise to visual comfort. Here the Chamber is using the 2×4 version, which delivers more than 3,000 lumens at 3500K. 0-10V dimming capabilities ensures the lighting can be dimmed across the office when appropriate.
In the primary conference room LITEISTRY™ 6″ square architectural downlights from Prescolite are being used to emphasize the showcase space. LITEISTRY delivers 50° shielding of the source and source image creating a truly quiet ceiling solution. The use of common LED source ensures 2-Step McAdam Ellipse color consistency at 80+ CRI. Along with a quiet aperture, LITEISTRY’s optical design delivers a wide range of beam distributions with high efficacies. In this application a wide distribution is paired with the 1000 standard lumen package. LITEISTRY features a portfolio of five finish reflector options – Specular, American Matte™, SoftSheen™, Softglow® and, as seen here, Semi-Specular.
LITEISTRY™ 6″ round architectural downlights with the retrofit housing are being used to illuminate the hallways and walkways in the space. The team elected to use the medium lumen package with 2000 lumens, 0-10V Dimming to 1 percent, 80+ CRI, wide distribution and the Semi-Specular reflector finish.
In the welcome lobby the MOD™ 2L LED Pendant Indirect/Direct from Litecontrol is being used to make a statement. The 2L is a part of the MODx family, which features four aperture widths, a selection of mounting types, and a myriad of output distributions, lumen output, diffuser types and many more options. The standard uplight distribution brings attention and emphasis to the green ceiling, the official brand color of the Chamber. The 6″ length pendant mounted fixtures feature a soft diffuse lens and a carbon black finish.
In the café the Chamber elected to bring definition and branding elements to the space with three unique LED cylinder pendants. The Inde-Pendant family of products from Litecontrol give lighting specifiers and designers the flexibility to choose from three primary styles – cylinder and ring, cylinder or ring. With the additional options built off of three styles, eleven configurations are created, adding to the versatility of the product offering. The Cylinder includes concentric layers of light with a frosted and clear glass effect. A key design element of the fixture is the Power Over Aircraft Cable suspension system, which provides power for class two luminaires without the need for a secondary power cord. Implementing this technology into the fixture ensures a clean, elegant look, allowing the aesthetic to blend into the cylinder. 600 delivered lumens at 3500K matches up with the other light fixtures and one percent diming at 0-10V ensures additional consistency.
The MultiPurpose Linear from Columbia Lighting is being used in storage areas for continuous illumination. The MultiPurpose Linear is available in 2ʹ, 4ʹ or 8ʹ lengths with multiple mounting options for every application, be it surface, wall, suspended, pendant, t-bar or continuous row. When row mounted, it provides a smooth, uninterrupted ribbon of light that can be specified with Wide and Narrow distribution options for open area or aisle applications.
